Project Statement / Rationale Assessment
of Employee Learning
  • To improve the assessment of employee learning
    at Professional Development Workshops through the
    development and implementation of a process where
    employees demonstrate achievement of measurable
    workshop objectives.

Current Process
  • An evaluation form is currently provided to all
    workshop attendees which asks for their opinions
    about the workshop.
  • No process currently exists to measure learning
    outcomes at Professional Development workshops.
  • Workshop attendees may earn clock hours simply by
    signing the workshop attendance sheet.

Improvement Theory and Implementation Plan
  • Measurable objectives will be developed for each
    Professional Development workshop.
  • An assessment tool will be developed to measure
    workshop learning outcomes.
  • Employees must complete the assessment in order
    to earn clock hours for a given workshop.
    (Awarding of clock hours is not based upon
    employee performance on the assessment and the
    results will remain anonymous).

    anonymous.

  • Review workshop assessment data on a quarterly
    basis and make recommendations for
    transformations.
  • Develop several models for creation of objectives
    and assessment tools.
  • Workshop participants will
  • Complete the workshop assessment in order to be
    eligible to earn clock hours for the workshop
    (assuming that Salary Adjustment Advancement
    procedures are followed).
  • Arrive on time to hands-on computer-based
    workshops, and will be encouraged to arrive five
    minutes early. The door will be closed at the
    start of the workshop and participants will not
    be allowed to enter late.
