Weather Forecasting Training Course

• Welcome Back I hope you enjoyed last week, and
  have learnt a little more about what is takes to
  be a weather presenter.
• This week, we shall be focusing on the weather
  symbols used on our weather maps.
• To be a good Weather Presenter, you need to know
  your Light Rain from your Thunderstorm symbol,
  otherwise there will be lots of unhappy people!

Topic 2 Weather Symbols

• Your second hour will develop your understanding
  of what weather symbols are used on TV, and what
  they all mean!
• For your portfolio, you need to complete a
  Weather Reporters Guide to Weather symbols A
  template has been produced for you, but feel free
  to be creative!

Weather Symbols Guide Some Help!

• You should aim to locate a typical weather map
  symbol, and describe what it looks like.
• You need to explain what type of weather it
  represents.
• For symbols to use in your work, click here.
• To reach the higher grades, consider visiting
  several websites to see if they use different
  weather symbols. If they do, should you include
  more than one weather symbol as an example?
• To use symbols from the net, right click on the
  image and save the file in your area. Then use
  the Insert Picture from File option. (Remember
  you will have to give the web page which supplied
  the image)
• Once you have finished, click on the sun!
