  • Edit Content - Add, delete or update web page
content e.g. text, images, and media files with
our HTML editor easily right through the
    browser.
  • Manage Templates - Create a new page template.
Edit an existing template. Delete an existing
    template.
  • Manage Page Properties A quick reference list
of all pages, searchable by name or page
grouping. Here you can also change page
properties, such as page title, style sheet
references, and page security for multiple pages
within the site at one time.
  • Manage Content Properties - Change content block
properties, such as title ID, style sheet
references, Shared and Unshared Content, and
security for multiple blocks at one time.
  • Publish Pages - Publish site pages. This will
make any changes made to content on all pages
viewable on the public side of the website. There
are options to publish the entire site, publish
pages by page type, or publish specific pages.
You may also publish specific pages within the
Edit Content section. If auto-publish is set to
No, and changes to content are not published,
they will not be reflected on the public side of
    the website. See Publish Settings.
  • Settings - Publish Settings Preset the site to
automatically publish changes made to content.

3
  • Each site is built in a custom template framework
based on the design of the site. Pages are broken
into editable sections with many sections being
shared across the whole site or major
    subsections.
  • To change the text or images in a given block,
just click on the edit box for the appropriate
    block.

4
  • In this screen you can change your text, just as
you would using Microsoft Word. When you have
    completed your changes, hit save.
  • You can also use manage images, page links, pop
up links, email links tables using the icons
above the editing screen. More details are shown
    on the next screen.

5
  • Many of the icons are familiar to users of
Microsoft Word. Additional features icons that
enable you to accomplish much more than just text
    formatting include
  • Page or File Link Easily insert a link to link
to a page within your site or to external
    websites.
  • Popup Link Tool Create links to specifically
    sized formatted windows for displaying
highlighted information or zoomed image views
that are larger than the template display size.
  • Anchor Links For longer pages with a lot of
information, create links that jump down to a
    specific section of the page.
  • Email Link Create a contact link that
automatically opens a new email message using the
site visitors email client (Outlook, Outlook
Express, AOL, etc). This tool can be used to
predefine the To address as well as the email
    subject line.
  • Image Mgmt Upload images on the fly, assign to
a specific position on the page, and format for
any necessary text to display in alignment with
    the image.
  • Tables Insert tables and configure for size,
number of rows columns, shading and line
    colors.
  • Style Sheet Apply custom formatting easily to
    text and links.

6
  • Once you return to the main page, you can
continue to make changes on any other pages you
need to, by searching through the drop down for
the specific page you are looking for or by
typing the page id into this box. When you are
done editing your content. Click the icon to
    return to the main menu.

7
  • At the top of the content editor page there are
several page management options. Here you can
copy a page, create a new page, publish pages,
    preview changes, and manage properties

8
  • Page Copy Function Here you can copy an existing
page and create a new page using that same
    framework shared navigation elements. Selecting
either the Yes or No determines whether the
unique content blocks in the page will be copied
    to the new page.
  • Yes is sometimes selected to provide an easy
framework to follow on the display of unique
    content from page to page

9
  • If the auto publish setting is set to No you
will need to manually publish pages for them to
be viewable on the public side of the site.
  • More information on Publishing options is
    included later in this presentation.

10
  • Managing Page Properties
  • To change the existing page name or title, enter
the name into the field. Page Names are for
internal reference, Page titles are displayed to
the public and indexed by search engines.
  • To change the Page Type associated with the page,
select the new page type from the drop down menu.
Page types are simply a way to group categorize
your pages for administrative purposes. To save
any of these pages, simply click save before
    leaving the page.
  • To change or add open or close HTML tags simply
type the new information into the text box. Open
Close coding is generally configured by
Speartek when the site is built.

11
  • Manage Templates - Create a new page template,
Edit an existing template, Delete an existing
    template.

12
  • To Add a new template click the Add New button

13
  • To edit your existing templates. Choose the page
name you want to change (we will be changing
04SpeartTekHome) and click the pencil icon next
    to that Page name.

14
  • Here you can edit your existing templates and
then save the changes by clicking on Save.
  • New templates can also be created using a similar
framework for defining how many sections there
will be for the new template and what the
dimensions (width in pixels or ) are required
    for that element.

15
  • Manage Page Properties A quick view of all the
pages in your site which can be filtered and
    searched.

16
  • To do a quick search for the page you are
searching for, use the fields at the top of this
    page and hit Search.

17
  • You can sort through the pages by Number, Type
and Name. You can view, edit and delete these
pages the same way you did in the templates
section, by using the three icons.

18
  • Manage Content Properties
  • Change content block properties, such as title
ID, style sheet references, Shared and Unshared
Content, and security for multiple blocks at one
    time.

19
  • On this page, again you can use the quick search
section at the top of the page to quickly look-up
the specific content block you would like to make
changes to. After you have filled in the fields.
    Hit Search.
  • On this page you can also search by Content ID or
Name. Use these icons to either view the page or
    edit the page.

20
  • Publish Pages. This will make any changes made to
content on all pages viewable on the public side
    of the website.
  • This applies when the auto publish settings are
off. The publishing option in the Speartek
system allows changes to be made to the site, but
not actually made live to the public until
reviewed approved. This is convenient when
site updates are delegated to other resources but
still require approval before being presented on
the publicly viewable side of the website.

21
  • There are options to publish the entire site,
publish pages by page type, or publish specific
pages. You may also publish specific pages within
    the Edit Content section.

22
  • There are options to publish the entire site,
publish pages by page type, or publish Specific
pages. You may also publish specific pages
    within the Edit Content section.
  • Once you have selected the page type you would
    like to Publish. Click Publish.

  • Settings
  • Publish Settings Preset the site to
automatically publish changes made to content or
    to require administrative approval.

embedding various media files such as Flash and
    QuickTime

keywords that are automatically appended to the
regular page titles. This is used for more
global search engine optimization vs page
