- EASE gives you access to a variety of University
services, including - the MyEd portal
- Athens web resources
- Time Allocation Survey
- EUCS call management system
- EASE gives access to all these systems with a
single secure sign on procedure. - Access is granted for 8 hours, so during this
time you can access all the services listed
without needing to re-enter your password. - EASE stands for
- Edinburgh
- Authentication
- SErvice
2What you need to register
- University Username (UUN) and Password
- Students UUN this will always be a small s
followed by your matriculation number - e.g. s012345.
- Staff UUN this is the username you use to log
into your supported desktop computer. - Password this can be any of the following
passwords - - Open Access Computing Labs
- - FirstClass (education)
- - Supported desktop computer
- - Original password you were provided with when
you started at University - If you are unsure of your username and password
then please contact your computing support team

4Next Step - Shared Secrets
In the first section click on the drop down list
to select a question and give your answer.
In the second section type in your own question,
and give the answer.
In the last section enter a secret word (min 7
letters), and provide a hint for this word
5Enter EASE Password
The password must be different from your UUN
password.
The password must be at least 7 characters long
and have at least two character classes
Alphabetic characters (i.e. A-Z or a-z) Numeric
characters (i.e. 0-9) Symbols and punctuation
(e.g. -_.,!.)
Enter your password
Enter the same password again to confirm

Whenever you use a system that requires EASE
authentication you will be presented with the
following screen
Enter your UUN and the password you registered.
7Password Problems?
At the login page there are the following
options
You can change your password and your shared
secrets at anytime.
If you forget your password you will be taken to
an Identity Check page, where you will be
prompted to answer the shared secret questions
you provided when you registered.
8Password Problems?
If you forget your password, and you cant
remember the shared secret questions then go
back to the initial registration page

Again enter your UUN and select Open Access labs
and enter the password you use to log-in to your
desktop computer.
9Password Problems?
At the top of the registration page the following
will be displayed
You can then go through the registration process
again, selecting shared secrets and entering a
new EASE password.
