2Harassment it refers to behaviors that are
found threatening or disturbing, and beyond those
that are normal or accepted by society Several
Types of Harassment (Bullying, Sexual Harassment,
Mobbing, Stalking and Hazing) Violence
forceful human destruction of property or injury
to persons, usually intentional, and forceful
verbal and emotional abuse that harms
others. Many Types of Violence Can u name a
few? Bullying Harassment that can occur on the
playground, school, in the workforce or any other
place. Bullying is when a stronger or more
powerful person hurts or frightens a weaker
person on purpose and does it repeatedly.

3What it Looks Like
- Can be physical
- Constantly pushing and hitting someone.
- Damaging a persons property (ripping clothes,
taking money) - Can be verbal
- Constant name calling
- Nasty threats
- Spreading rumors
4What to Do?
- If you are being picked on, kindly ask them to
stop. Be assertive. Tell them why it bothers
you. - Tell a teacher or school staff member about the
physical and verbal abuse. - Let one of your teachers know when you hear about
a fight thats going to happen. - Practice dealing with situations of conflict.

- lt1 of killings among youths 5-19 occur at
school. - However, according to CDC
- gt1.5 million high school students are victims of
physical violence while on a date. - According WHO
- gt1.6 million people die each from violent acts
every year (suicide -40secs., murder-1min.,
armed conflict-2min.) -
8Conflict Style
- Avoidance acting as though a conflict does not
exist e.g., (when a friend stains a shirt you
have lent her, and, rather than saying your
annoyance, you stay silent feel resentful.) - Diffusion delay dealing with a conflict
e.g.(being angry at someone but waiting to cool
off before confrontation. - Confrontation direct response to conflict can
be violent or non-violent.
