The ATS Connection
  • The Prevention Educator in each building is cross
    trained to assist the Social Learning Specialist
    in identifying and supporting student needs.
  • The Prevention Educator can push in to classrooms
    to address Aftercare/Student needs at grade
    levels other than 3-5.

Objectives
  • The goals of the GRAV program are to reduce
    violence in students lives by
  • Giving students consistent, nonviolent messages
  • Changing violent norms
  • Promoting a developmental asset framework
  • Focusing on issues that students feel are
    relevant
  • Incorporating academic standards

Target Population
  • Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 at each site.
  • These grade levels encompass challenging
    developmental milestones and have been shown to
    benefit from a multi session intervention like
    GRAV.

Program Delivery
  • Center staff requires 45 minutes per session.
  • A Needs Assessment is conducted with the
    classroom teacher.
  • Appropriate content area for the 4-6 sessions is
    determined by the Prevention Educator.
