- Use the advice your team received on the Proposal
as a guide to writing the Final Report. - Note Your grade will reflect your ability and
willingness to heed your evaluator's
suggestions. - Produce a professional document a title page, an
Executive Summary page, the body of the report,
and a Reference List page. - Paginate the report and use section headings in
bold type.

- The final report should demonstrate
- Precise grammar, spelling, and organization.
- Unified voice.
- Smooth transitions from paragraph to paragraph.

- Executive Summarya one-paragraph overview of the
report. - Introduction and BackgroundExplain the purpose
of the report, provide context and background for
your experiments, and define essential terms. - Experimental MethodsDescribe the experiments you
performed in a clear and concise narrative
voicedo not use bulleted items. Professional
engineers should be able to recreate your
experiments by following this section.

- Results and DiscussionDescribe the work you did
and explain its significance. Remember your task
was to conduct experiments that would deepen your
understanding of Statics principles. - Conclusionthis section offers you an opportunity
to provide new perspectives on your experiments.
Do not simply repeat information from your
introduction. Include a brief (two to three
sentences) summary of the report. - References(same format as in proposal).
- Appendicesattach if necessary.

Wed., Dec. 2, 2009 The Final Report must be
submitted in two forms (1) A hard copy
directly to the CTC by 400 p.m. in your folder
(along with all previous work!) (2) An
electronic copy mailed to askctc_at_engineering
.uiowa.edu
