The history and the patron

There are events which have become engraved in
our memories. Dates, which are reminded after
many years and which revive in memories. 1st
September 1999 is such a date for us when our
junior high school was established after the
reform of educational system in Poland.

  The fist year of our educational and
didactic activities was concentrated on the
selection of our patron. After long consideration
we came to a conclusion that the priest Jan
Twardowski could be a model and exemplar in our
every day life. This very modest man, poet -
priest is adored for his kindness, warmth and
sensitivity to other peoples needs. As a poet,
he reaches the hearts of many readers both in our
country and abroad.
The priest Jan Twardowskis words have become the
mission of our junior high school We
fulfill ourselves the most if we can live for
the other people.

11.12.2001 the first meeting
with Jan Twardowski in Warsaw

  On 24th May 2001 there was the CEREMONY
OF GIVING GIMNAZJUM NO 1 THE NAME OF JAN
TWARDOWSKI which was dignified by the presence of
the patron himself.
The schoolmaster welcomes the priest Jan
Twardowski.

The students performance, the tour of the school
with the patron, the discussions on the poetry
and taking pictures are the precious reminders of
this event.

On 25th of May in the first anniversary of
giving Gimnazjum No 1 the name of Jan Twardowski,
THE CEREMONY OF GIVING THE BANNER TO SCHOOL took
place. The priest Jan Twardowski couldnt attend
in the ceremony as he was in hospital, however he
sent greetings
When I feel ill I am well As all feel sorry for
me And wish me recovery And in the end - The kiss
to all I send

On 4th November 2004 THE FIRST MEETING OF
SCHOOLS NAMED AFTER JAN TWARDOWSKI. Different
schools, different students, different places,
but the same Patron it made priest Twardowski
dream that one day he and his literary work will
make the schools work together and keep in touch.
The 20 out of 29 schools named after
Twardowski meet together in Brzeszcze.

there are not chance meetings. Each meeting
with another man is prepared by God. There is
always the continuation which occurs very
important. Jan Twardowski

  On 31st May 2005, a short time before
THE 90th BIRTHDAY OF THE PRIEST JAN TWARDOWSKI,
the schools named after him met again.
The little volume Students lined
notebook, made by the students from all over the
country and containing the most beautiful
literary and arts works, was the common present
for the patron as a token of gratitude, and the
buquet of best wishes from the students,
teachers and workers hearts for the patron...

  On 18th January 2006 THE DEATH OF JAN
TWARDOWSKI hasnt influenced the bond between
the school and the patron. He will always stay in
the students hearts and his poems will still
remain the guideline in the heading towards
adulthood. The priest Jan always wanted a
serene funeral and his dream was fulfilled. The
crowds of faithful readers, with young people and
children, went to say the last goodbye. The
priest had and will enjoy prestige for all of
them..
The delegation of our junior high school took
part in the funeral ceremony in Warsaw.
