Sharon Haas Managing Director, Fitch Ratings
Sharon Haas is a managing director in Fitch
Ratings financial institutions group. Sharon
recently assumed responsibility for Diversified
Financial Services, including securities firms,
asset managers, finance companies, Canadian banks
and government sponsored enterprises. Previously,
Sharon managed Fitchs coverage of banks, bank
holding companies, thrifts and credit unions in
North America. Sharon is a member of Fitchs
Hybrid Capital committee and Corporate Finance
Criteria Committee. Sharon joined Fitch in
December 2000 when Fitch acquired Thomson
BankWatch. Prior to the acquisition, she was
responsible for BankWatchs financial
institutions coverage in North America, and she
played an active role in the firms various
international ratings committees in both
developed and emerging markets. She received a BA
in economics from Vassar College and is a CFA
charterholder. Peter F. Patrino Managing
Director, Fitch Ratings Peter is a managing
director in Fitch Ratings North American
Insurance Rating Group. He oversees the US Health
Managed Care Sector, in addition to having
analytical responsibility for life and annuity
insurers. Peter is the analytical manager in
North America for Prism, Fitchs economic capital
model. He is a member of the insurance ratings
committee and he has supervisory responsibility
for several staff members. Peter has been with
Fitch and its predecessor companies since 1994.
Over the years, he has maintained analytical
coverage in the property/casualty and title
insurance sectors in addition to his current
responsibilities. Peter was a vice president and
performed a similar role at Duff Phelps Credit
Rating prior to the merger with Fitch in June
2000. He holds a BS degree in actuarial science
and an MBA from the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign. He holds the Chartered
Financial Analyst designation and is a member of
the CFA Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute.
