  • 1993, handful of WNC folks concluded fresh
    approach to economic development could
    potentially be found in the invisible industry of
    craftspeople already working
  • HandMade was formed and received grant from Pew
    Partnership for Civic Change
  • Regional planning process involved more than 360
    people

    contemporary craft, to revere and protect our
    resources, and to preserve and enrich the
    spiritual, cultural, and community life of our
