Title: MBA Degree Testimonials
1MBA DEGREE TESTIMONIALS
2Prasad Turaga,M. Pharm.,Ph.D.
- I was working as a Pharmacy Clinical
Coordinator at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro,
NC. A change happened in the department's
director position and the upper management
offered me the job as the Director of Pharmacy.
My current enrollment in the MBA program was
considered as one of the reasons that they
offered me the manager's position. I look
forward to moving up the corporate ladder in my
present company or other organizationsafter
finishing my MBA at WSSU. My time invested in the
MBA program so far has certainly showed
results.
3Courtney M. Legins
- I began the pursuit for my MBA at WSSU in
August 2003 and I completed the degree in August
2006. While completing my MBA, I worked
full-time with Carolina Donor Services as a
Quality Assurance Auditor for almost six years.
I became aware of the Leadership Development
Program (LDP) at BBT and started the Program in
January 2007. I am going to be building upon
both my MBA and my audit experience by working
as an Associate Internal Auditor upon completion
of the program, with promising advancement
potential. I have been able to gain valuable
knowledge through the program about the industry
I have chosen and been given more leverage for
the career goals ahead thanks to the MBA I
received.

4Tom Henry
- I recently was hired for the position of
Assistant Director of Pharmacy for Neil Medical
Group, the largest provider of pharmacy services
to long-term care facilities in North Carolina.
During the interview process, the Vice President
remarked that it was my business education and
experience that set me apart from the
competition. I truly believe that my status as
a MBA Student at WSSU helped create that
advantage that allowed me to achieve this
position which commands a salary in excess of
145,000 plus a bonus. I started my MBA a
couple of times when I was younger but the
challenge of raising young children prevented me
from finishing. One thing that I noticed about
the WSSU MBA program that set it apart from other
area programs was the fact that WSSU only has an
evening program tailored to the needs of the
working adult. I had experienced the treatment
of a "second-class" MBA student in a school that
had both a day and an evening program. At WSSU
the treatment is definitely First Class.

- Another very positive aspect of the program is
the willingness to be flexible. - My new position will require a significant amount
of travel. In some schools - this could have been a road block to my
completion of the MBA, but the - leaders of the MBA program offered me some
creative alternatives to complete - my studies such as independent study and on-line
courses.

My ultimate consideration for going back to
school was for me to become a better citizen. I
believe that education is the key to overcoming
many obstacles. The reason I chose WSSU to earn
a masters degree was two-fold proximity and
quality of the program. The MBA program at WSSU
is an excellent value. I was particularly
pleased with the class size and the curriculum.
The professors are top-notch and extremely
approachable. The class size fit my style of
learning because there were no more than 18
students in any of my classes. I like that
teamwork is encouraged because it takes the
effort of a team to successfully complete the
program. I developed wonderful relationships
with my classmates that have continued
throughout the program, and because of the MBA
program, they are my friends for life. I would
encourage anyone interested in earning an MBA to
enroll. It will be money well spent.
