What Was The Blitz?

• The Blitz was a series of bombing raids that
  happened on Britain's cities.
• Many people died or were left homeless.
• These raids were mainly carried out at night.

Air Raid!

• When people heard this siren they had to get to
  get to safety.

In the shelters

• There were canteens..
• . music and dancing.

Blackout

• During the blackout people had to cover up their
  windows so that the bombers couldnt see the
  cities.
• Many people walked into cars or rivers and died!

• Some people used the underground train station.
• People had Anderson shelters in their garden.

The end.

• In 1940 the Blitz finally ended. It had killed
  around 32000 people and around 2000000 homes were
  destroyed.
