ELEPHANT
The largest African elephant recorded, weighs
over nine tons and stood more than twelve
feet. The Latin name for elephant is pachyderm
or thick skinned.

GIRAFFE
A giraffe has just 2 gaits, walk and gallop. Top
speed while galloping is 37 mph. The giraffes
long neck moves in synchrony to maintain balance.

RHINOCEROS
A rhinoceros horns grow through out its
life. Rhinoceros have extremely poor vision, but
an acute sense of smell.

CHEETAH
The cheetah is the fastest land animal. It can
reach top speeds of 70 mph in 2 to 3 seconds and
maintain it for 1000 feet.

CHIMPANZEE
Chimpanzees communicate with each other through a
complex system of sounds, gestures, body postures
and facial expressions. Chimpanzees can have a
life span of more than 50 years.

LION
Lions can run as fast as 37 mph. A lions roar
can be heard from a distance of 5 miles.
