Criteria
  • 1. Establish a GGP National Committee or a GGP
    Focal Point these out to be institutions
  • 2. Organise a national GGS
  • 3. Agree to carry out at least three waves of the
    GGS
  • 4a. Use the GGS core questionnaire and one or
    more of optional modules
  • 4b. Where possible, part of GGS-type information
    may be derived from administrative records
  • 5. Use a probability sample of sufficient size as
    recommended in the GGS sample design guidelines,
    i.e. 8,000 respondents in the third wave.

  • 6. Allow the sample design, panel maintenance and
    questionnaire of the national GGS to be reviewed
    by the Co-ordination Centre (PAU), follow up, as
    appropriate the recommendation of the Centre
  • 7. Prepare and clean the file with the survey
    data for each wave and provide documentation in
    English of all instruments those on the sample,
    data collection, and the data file itself
  • 8. Deliver the de-personalised individual level
    data file to the Centre along with the
    documentation no later than 18 months after the
    completion of the interviews

Criteria
  • Further to the delivery, the data file will be
    processes to arrive at a harmonised/standardised
    file at the Max Planck Institute, the file will
    be archived at the Centre and distributed by the
    INED.
  • 9. Enter into a legally binding agreement with
    the Centre which would allow bona fide
    researchers to use the data for scientific
    research under appropriate regulations that
    ensure the anonymity of respondents.
  • 10. Provide at least every 12 months updated
    aggregate data for the GGP contextual data base
    to the Centre.
