History of Turtle Mountain Community College

• Turtle Mountain Community College is located in
  north central North Dakota in the historical
  wooded, hilly, and lake-filled area known as the
  Turtle Mountains Indian Reservation.
• Began as Turtle Mountain Community College in
  1972
• The Turtle Mountain Chippewa Tribe chartered the
  college in 1972.
• One of the original six tribal colleges
• Accredited through the Higher Learning Commission
  of the North Central Associations of Colleges and
  Schools
