• 350 patients attending the diabetic eye clinic
• May 2005-May 2006
• 93 patients having laser for DR
• prospective audit of these patients having laser
• 13 patients recorded with vitreous haemorrhage

Prevention?

• Need more laser need it sooner
• heavier laser in one session causes
  complicationslots of sessions
• Lots of haemorrhagesneed laser?
• new vessels are missed clinically
• May be other patients who have had too much
  lasernot identified in this audit
• late referral optometry ( clinic)
