• lasers are located in the new lab
• Measurements are done before GeN

• Burnt fibers could be repaired close to 97

Oven target heating system

• oven(vaspel/torlon) designed for 170 deg C
• vaspel lt 288 deg. C Torlonlt 260 deg. C.
• heating the oven to 250 deg C.
• the 2'nd interlock relay for the 2'nd heater
• automatically shut the power once airflow/temp
  hits limits
• troubles in testing at high temp.
• Cut off the plastic plate
• Replace the torlon connector and tube
• get ride of brass/copper components
• Finally, stainless-steel tube directly connected
  to oven

Oven target heating system

• Oven temp around 240deg with hot airlt260deg
• Vespal Oven needs better heat insulation
• airflow adjustments might not be enough

Oven and target heating system

• PID control the heater working cycle
• fast response short rise time
• small overshot air not too hot
• stablity most wanted!
• Good PID is needed for high temp running.

Control and monitoring in target lab

• the old system based on VME
• used by GeN
• new system is under development window PC
• currently, works well for the oven
• will switch from RS232 to RS485
• more devices controled
• more reliable
