  Cisneros is a very unique and culturally
  influenced novel. Esperanza, the main character,
  tells us a series of short stories and
  experiences from her point of view. Do you
  believe that a high heeled shoe could lead to
  prostitution and be degrading to the female world
  as a whole?

• This novel, although culturally influenced 1
  could persuade you one way or the other in that
  respect. This novel requires a deeper level of
  thinking than many so if one just read through
  quickly then he or she could miss several hidden
  meanings all throughout the short stories, in
  particular what ideas the shoes portray. A lose 2
