Service of Remembrance
  • Yearly memorial service during December since

  • Established in response to the needs of bereaved
    families
  • Provides opportunity for families to honor and
    remember their lost babies and receive support
    from and connect with other bereaved families

Support Groups

  • Developed in 1992 in response to requests from
    families
  • Eight 6-week support groups in English and
    Spanish to date
  • Provide support after a pregnancy or infant loss
    and prior to subsequent pregnancies

    support one-on-one

  • Co-sponsored SIDS strategic planning event for 21
    agencies in 1999
  • Purpose to institutionalize comprehensive SIDS
    education
  • Safe Place to Sleep project with Prenatal Care
    Guidance
  • Mercury Thermometer Exchange

Folic Acid Community Campaign
  • Folic Acid Advisory Group established in 2003
  • Purpose raise awareness of the importance of
    folic acid and its role in preventing birth
    defects
  • Launched Folic Acid Community Campaign in English
    and Spanish in 2003 with March of Dimes funding
  • Continued activities in 2004 with USDA funding
