Defragmenting your P.C.

Why should we defragment P.C.?

• When you defrag your machine, you are making your
  machine work better. Defragging puts all of the
  pieces needed to run your program in a close
  proximity to each other on the hard drive.
• By defragging the machine, all the program pieces
  will be moved and put together so your hard drive
  can run optimally and access programs as fast as
  it is capable of doing.

NOTE Before defragging your machine, close all
open Windows programs.

How to defragment your P.C.?

• Depending on your computer and your hard disk,
  defragmenting the hard disk can take a bit of
  time. Some programs will crash if the disk is too
  fragmented
• To start the defrag utility, click on the Start
  (1) button, then hover your mouse over All
  programs (2), then hover over Accessories (3),
  then hover over System Tools (4), then click on
  Disk Defragmenter (5).

How to defragment your P.C.?

• Before you start ensure you have enough time to
  complete the defragmentation process, it can be
  anything from 30 mins up to several hours
  depending on how much use the PC has had since
  the last defrag was completed.
• Click on the drive you want to defrag (6) i.e. c
  drive . Then click on the Defragment button (7)?

How to defragment your P.C.?

• At any point you can stop or or pause defragment
  of your PC
• When Defragment has finished click the OK then
  exit the program by clikcing the X at the top
  right corder of the program
