The seventh Hebrew letter is the zayin. It
gives us the tz sound like in hits.

The zayin was first a picture of a tool used to
cut the harvest like a mattock or plow. It has
retained its meaning in the modern design.

The zayin symbolizes weapon, crown, or head.

When the zayin is written in the Torah scroll, it
is given tagin (tags) to adorn the letter like a
crown.
