Palestinian Terrorists Infiltrate through
Kissufim Crossing

• Early Saturday afternoon, 9th of June,
  Palestinian terrorists broke through Israels
  border in Kissufim near Gaza, in order to abduct
  an Israeli soldier.
• The terror cell, made up of four terrorists from
  the Al-Quds Brigades (the military wing of
  Islamic Jihad), and the Al Aqsa Martyrs
  Brigades (Fatahs military wing) was well
  equipped and armed, a fact indicating it had
  thoroughly prepared for the operation.
• After the terrorists were exposed by the IDF, an
  exchange of gunfire occurred, during this one
  terrorist was killed and three others escaped
  back into the Gaza Strip.

This past week, Israel has continued to suffer
terrorist attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip.
These rocket and mortar attacks have, however,
continued on a relatively low level mainly
because of IDF activity.
Since the latest rise in terrorist attacks from
the Gaza Strip, over 400 rockets and mortars have
landed in Israeli territory, causing the death of
two, the injury of a few dozen more, and
overall damage to the Israeli home front.

The Continuation of Fired Rockets and Mortar
Shells - Cont.

• 28/5 11 rockets and 4 mortar shells landed in
  various regions during the day (Sderot, Nahal Oz,
  Kibbutz Shuva, Kibbutz Maplasim). one civilian
  was slightly wounded, and a few civilians
  entered a state of shock from a rocket attack in
  Sderot. In another incident, 2 rockets which hit
  Kibbutz Mefalsim caused a fire to break out in
  the area.

• 29-30/5 The weekends attacks resulted in one
  slightly injured civilian, 18 in a state of
  shock, damage to a building, and power outages in
  the area. 5 rockets landed mainly in Sderot, as
  well in Gevim.

• 31/5 8 rockets and 2 mortar shell hit the
  region. No injuries or damages were caused.

• 1/6 Damage was caused to a company garage by
  one of 9 rockets which landed in the area.

• 2/6 An anti-tank fire attack (RPG) was launched
  towards IDF forces in the vicinity of the Erez
  crossing. No injuries or damages were reported.
  Additionally, 4 rockets and 1 mortar shell
  landed, resulting in 1 civilian in a state of
  shock.
• 3/6 4 Israeli soldiers got slightly wounded
  from mortar shell attacks towards the Erez
  Crossing and an additional 6 soldiers entered a
  state of shock. A total of 2 kassam rockets and
  9 mortar shell landed during the day.
• 4/6 7 mortar shells landed in the vicinity of
  the Erez Crossing, along with 3 rockets which
  landed in Israeli territory throughout the day. 2
  civilians entered a state of shock during the
  days attacks.
• 5/6 A total of 3 rockets and 2 mortar shells
  landed in the region. No injuries reported from
  these attacks.
• 6/6- A total of 6 rockets and 16 mortar shells
  landed in the region. No injuries reported from
  these attacks.
• During the past weekend, A total of 3 rockets and
  5 mortar shells landed in the western Negev. No
  injuries or damage were reported.

Smuggling of Weapons

• Throughout the past week, a total of 5 tunnels
  used by terrorists for smuggling were discovered
  along the border by Egyptian border police.
• Half a ton of TNT explosives and 1,000 bullets
  (type 7.62) were found and taken by Egyptian
  border police. An additional ton of TNT was found
  later on in the week.

IDF Operations

• With intentions of preventing further damage to
  Israels citizens and property, this past week
  the IDF continued to operate in response to the
  continuation of terror from the Palestinian
  arena.
• The IAF targeted launching points, launch
  operatives as well as terrorists, an
  informational research center of the Islamic
  Jihad and a FATAH weapon manufacturing site in
  the Gaza Strip.
• The IDF has done everything in its power to
  prevent the injury and death of uninvolved
  citizens.
