College Visitations

school (and none during May)!
  • Try to schedule visits on Friday, October 16th
    -no school at ILHS!

College Applications
Stay on top of your deadlines!
  • Applying On-line
  • Make a copy of the application you submit
  • Notify the Guidance Office that you need a
    transcript sent
  • Provide the Guidance Office with the complete
    name and mailing address of the school
  • Know your deadlines!
  • Paper Applications
  • Create a working copy
  • Transfer information to original copy
  • If you need a part of the application filled out,
    please speak to Mrs. Bodin, Mr. Niekamp, or Mrs.
    Keykens directly
  • Know your deadlines!

If you need a letter of recommendation, do not
wait until the last minute to notify a counselor!

  • Read all college applications closely-some
    college scholarships are included in the
    applications and some are a separate process
  • Check ILHS webpage daily
  • Ask student to listen to announcements
  • Make sure your student meets all application
    criteria

College and scholarship applications are your
students first (and possibly his/her only)
impression-make it count!

A Final Note
  • When students have been accepted to a college,
    they need to bring their notification letter to
    Mrs. Keykens
  • When students have been awarded a scholarship,
    they need to bring their letter to Mrs. Keykens
    as well
  • Dont procrastinate! Your student is not only
    competing with his/her classmates they are
    competing with every senior in the entire state
    and in many cases, the nation.
