2
A Memory
  • What did you remember most?
  • Have your main character remember the main event.

3
Feelings
  • How did you feel about what happened?
  • Show how the main character felt about what
    happened in the story.

4
Wish or Hope
  • What would you wish or hope?
  • As a result of the main event, the main character
thinks ahead and makes a wish or hope for the
    future.

5
Decision
  • What did you decide?
  • Include a decision made by the main character as
a result of the main event or story problem.

6
Defining Action
  • What did you do?
  • As a result of the main event the main character
does something that reflects a decision or a
    feeling.
  • I would NOT recommend you trying this unless you
    really understand it!!!

7
Example One
  • I had certainly been a wonderful day!
Jackie held the new kitten close to her. She
could feel it purring softly. At that moment she
knew that her tiny kitten would always mean more
to her than all the gold and riches in the world.

Example Two
  • Sam still hurt all over from his fall off of
that horse. Just thinking about it sent a chill
down his spine. Somehow though, the thought of
never riding again was much worse than the fall
he had taken. With that, Sam pulled on his
riding boots, grabbed his saddle, and headed out
    to the barn.

9
Example Three
  • Sara looked out the window at her
neighborhood. It still didnt feel like home,
she thought. Yet, there were many new places to
visit and things to explore. So, she took a deep
breathe, pushed the memories of her old home
aside, and headed out the door. She knew in her
heart that it was up to her to make this new
    place feel like home.
