My ideal classroom

Computers

• The most important pieces of technology to have
  in my classroom are computers. They can help to
  enhance students learning in so many different
  ways.

• Having computers in my classroom would allow
  children to play educational games and use new
  computer software for learning.
• It would also be a great resource for children
  who wanted to research information online.

Tape Recorders

• Tape recorders would make a very interesting and
  positive addition to my ideal classroom.
• Children can use them to listen to books on
  tape, or they can go one step further and record
  themselves telling a story.

• Tape recorders in the early childhood classroom
  can play a very big part in a childs literacy
  development.
• It will help them to make a connection between
  spoken and written word.

Camera

• I would like to have a camera in the classroom
  and encourage the children to use it.
• They could take pictures of projects they have
  made or activities that they enjoyed and want to
  remember.

• I would post all the childrens pictures on a
  bulletin board so they could all see what their
  classmates thought was important. This would
  encourage them to recall and analyze previous
  classroom experiences.

Magic Touch

• Magic Touch is a touch-screen that can be mounted
  onto any computer.  The student can use a
  soft-tip pen or even just a finger to navigate
  the computer instead of using a mouse.

Magic Touch

• I think having Magic Touch on each computer
  screen would be extremely helpful in an early
  childhood classroom. At such a young age, most
  children are not familiar with or have never used
  a computer or a mouse. Magic Touch would make
  navigating so much easier for a child.

Reading Pen

• Reading pens will scan and read aloud any text.
  They read in Spanish as well as English.

• The most important focus of any early childhood
  classroom is teaching children to read.
• With a classroom that may contain up to 30
  children and only one teacher, the Reading Pen
  would help students practice sounding out words
  when the teacher may be too busy to sit
  one-on-one with them.
