Do NOT open E-mail from unknown senders!

• A majority of viruses sent out via the Internet
  are sent by means of E-mail.
• Viruses can be placed in the message without the
  knowledge of the receiver.

Use hard to get passwords

• Try to pick hard passwords that people (such as
  hackers) would not be able to figure out.
• Use numbers as well as letters in your password.
• Do NOT use birthdays, anniversaries, pet names,
  phone numbers, or even real words.
• Change your password often.
• A good password is a good defense to fight off a
  hacker.

Use anti-virus software

• Periodically, run anti-virus applications to make
  sure your computer does not have any viruses
  running through it.

Do NOT download music or video files to the
computer

• For one, it is illegal.
• It is dangerous to the computer.
• Viruses can be created, named as an MP3, and
  launched as a music or video file is downloaded.
• Pop-ups happen all the time due to a program
  embedded in the file. All privacy is then lost.
