Title: Inspiring Internet Safety in Elementary/Middle School
1Inspiring Internet Safety in Elementary/Middle
School
- Patti Hoelzle, School Counselor
- Nooksack Valley School District
2Intervention vs. prevention
- Intervention Its already happening, we need
to help. - Impact on students academic, social/emotional
functioning.lets do something - Prevention Its going to happen in the
future. - Equip students with skills PRIOR to needing them
in crisis or to prevent crisis - My belief It is better to start the conversation
early when students have minimal exposure than
try and teach replacement skills later when
fully exposed (or even over exposed)
