Local Routes Technicians

• Level I Pick up samples, properly store them
  and transport them to the Lab.
• Level II Conducts on-site pH, DO, Cl2
  Residual
• Level III Sets our Auto-sampler, delineates
  spill sites, does special sampling

Routes Training

• All routes technicians receive training for each
  test performed and must pass a performance
  evaluation and authorization annually.
• All routes technicians receive 40 hr HAZMAT
  training
• All routes technicians must pass defensive
  driving and DL check annually.

Routes

• Skeeter, Rocio, Tracey, Roy Regional Managers
  receive request for sampling.
• A Contract Review is conducted to see that we
  have the resources available to meet clients
  request. (Method, TAT, etc.)
• CoCs are prepared and given to bottle prep.

• The day starts early (500 AM) as Route Techs
  check their bottles and CoCs
• Load vehicles with supplies and ice
• Calibrate meters before they leave the lab

• Routes may be 300 400 miles long
• Some routes require 12 hours to complete
• Rain, Snow, Hot or Cold
• The only Ana-Lab person many clients see
• The expert in the field
• Complete records accurately

• Safe or dangerous

Route Technician

• Collect a representative sample
• Collect the proper amount of sample
• Preserve the sample correctly
• Protect the integrity of the sample
• Deliver the samples to the lab within acceptable
  holding time
