Where They Lived

• The Apalachee land went from the Aucilla River in
  the east to the Ochlockonee River in the west.
  Its northern boundary extended to what is now
  the Georgia state line. Its south border was the
  Gulf of Mexico.

How They Lived

• Prior to European contact there were probably
  at least 50,000-60,000 Apalachee they were a
  strong and powerful tribe. They lived in large
  villages.
• They grew corn, beans, and squash

Spanish Explorers

• The Apalachee didnt get along very well with the
  explorers.
• The explorers from Spain brought disease that
  killed the Apalachee tribe

What Happened to the Apalachee

• The Spanish and British attacked the Apalachee
  until most were dead or moved to other states.
