A Critical Event
occurs every time a homeless or vulnerable
person comes into contact with us. Our goals,
strategies and actions should focus on maximising
the long term positive impact of each critical
event.

Winter Care Shelter

• Place of shelter and safety
• Hot meal and breakfast
• Support, advice and guidance
• Signposting to mainstream services
• First operated in Edinburgh in 1996
• 5 months, 74 churches, 500 volunteers
• Positive moves on to more stable living
• Major contribution to city by churches
