• School Uniform
• The school uniform shows you belong to our school
  community.
• It should be worn with pride as you have chosen
  to be here with us.
• It also demonstrates your pride in yourself.
• It is a requirement for being part of our school.
• It enables all students to be seen and therefore
  treated as equals.
• Students not wearing the uniform correctly are
  saying that they are special or should be treated
  differently to others. This is not what our
  mission statement says i.e. all students are of
  equal value and are treated the same.
• Students having problems with getting the correct
  uniform can be given help. Please ask your form
  tutor if needed.

Ties

• Collars should be together with the top button
  fastened and ties done up properly.

Shirts

• Shirt plain white, designed for fastening at
  the neck, with the tie properly tied and the top
  button fastened and the shirt should be tucked
  in.

Shirts

• Polo shirt with school logo - as supplied by
  Trutex, may be worn in place of the plain white
  shirt, at any time of the year. It can be worn
  inside or outside trousers. No other items must
  be visible underneath the polo shirt.
• A school jumper must be brought at all times and
  an appropriate coat brought whenever it is likely
  to be cold or wet.

Jumper

• Green jumper with the school logo.

Trousers

• Trousers must be plain school trousers, black,
  not be too wide, or flared or drag on the floor.
• They must not be fashion trousers, not jeans type
  i.e. with patch pockets or with studs on pockets.

• Trousers must fit at the waist, must not be
  hipsters, must be of normal school trouser
  material and students are not allowed to wear
  fashion belts.

Shoes

• Shoes must be black, sensible, suitable for
  school, not fashion shoes or obvious trainer
  type, low heeled, no logos.
• Socks must be black.

Coats

• Students must always bring a coat to school with
  them. The weather may change during the day!
• The coat must be warm, dark, plain and
  waterproof.
• It must NOT be made of cord, canvas or leather.
• Hoodies or coats with obvious logos are NOT
  allowed.
• Coats must only be worn over the school jumper,
  not directly over a shirt or polo shirt

Make-up

• Students must NOT wear make-up. If it is
  detectable students will be asked to remove it.
• Students may not wear fake tan!

Jewellery

• Only one simple chain, worn inside not out
• One stud-type earring in each ear
• One simple ring

Remember no earrings or other forms of jewellery
can be worn for any PE activity!

School Bags

• School books and other equipment are expensive
  and must be looked after.
• It is your responsibility to make sure you have
  an appropriate school bag.
• Bags must be large enough i.e. to be capable of
  carrying A4 files without damage and sturdy
  enough to carry all books / equipment without
  damage.
• They must be waterproof.
• A rucksack is preferable. Sack bags and
  fashion handbags are NOT suitable.
• Healthy Back bags can be bought from the school
  priced approx. 10

Uniform Audits

• The standard of your uniform will periodically be
  checked by your Form Tutor, Head of Year and by
  someone from Senior Management.
• The grade will be recorded in your journal /
  planner and included on the ½ termly report so
  that parents are aware of the situation.
• We expect all students to be a minimum of a grade
  2 and hopefully grade 1.

Suppliers

• Appropriate items can generally be obtained from
  the following places, though you must make sure
  the type/ style is correct for our school.
• Ties, school polo shirts and jumpers are only
  available from Trutex.
• Trutex also supply a range of shirts and
  trousers, some of which are suitable for school.
• Asda, BHS, John Lewis and MS also provide items
  of school uniform which may be suitable for
  school.
• Clarks, John Lewis, Asda, BHS and MS generally
  have a range of suitable shoes for school
