• Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on
  eternal life, to which you were also called and
  have confessed the good confession in the
  presence of many witnesses.

• You therefore must endure hardship as a good
  soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in
  warfare entangles himself with the affairs of
  this life, that he may please him who enlisted
  him as a soldier.

  ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the
  race that is set before us

• Let us draw near with a true heart in full
  assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled
  from an evil conscience and our bodies washed
  with pure water.

• And now, little children, abide in Him, that
  when He appears, we may have confidence and not
  be ashamed before Him at His coming.

• And by this we know that we are of the truth,
  and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if
  our heart condemns us, God is greater than our
  heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our
  heart does not condemn us, we have confidence
  toward God.
