• Andrew Jackson was the commander of the American
  forces. His men were a melting pot of American
  society.
• January 8 1815, the British attacked New Orleans
  only to be caught in an open field and were cut
  down by Jacksons forces.
• Jackson became a hero and a legend from this
  battle.
