Math Grading Disclaimer

• Part of the job of the 8th grade math teacher is
  to prepare students for high school.
• Grades are weighted with homework being the most
  important class work item.
• Students will invariably receive occasional Ds
  or Fs. This is actually OK. Students have
  different strengths and weaknesses in math or in
  work habits.

• The final grade is the important part, but..
• 8th graders need practice in how to solve
  adult-type problemsone of the problems is to
  improve the students grade.
• Grades can be improved through correction
• Grades can be improved by not having late work
• Grades can be improved by wise use of late work
  passes
• Grades can be improved by trying harder

• Get to work on the starter
• Try your best on the daily quiz
• Give the daily problem a try
• Listen carefully to instruction
• Work on assignment during study time
• Turn in quality homework

Late Work Bad Choice

• All homework is due by 800 a.m. Tuesday of the
  following week!
• Late assignments automatically earn only 60
  credit.
• As soon as 6 assignments are missing, you will be
  invited to stay after school.
