Welcome to the Lively Trainers
2
  • Who are we?
  • The Lively trainers are a group of young
people, aged 14 and over, who have experience of
receiving a service from the local authority.
  • Learning new skills
  • Lively trainers are supported to deliver
training by undertaking a range of modules on
various subjects which include makaton, first
aid, training and presentation skills, drama
    workshops and many more.

  • Support team
  • The lively trainers are line managed by a
Project Manager in Children's Services, who give
a budget to support the work. The Project Manager
works closely with an Administrator to prepare
contracts, training plans, transport and support
    for the lively trainers.
  • Group Agreement
  • Lively trainers helped to write their own
group agreement and policies. These include
    Health Safety, Child Protection, Equal
Opportunities, Codes of Conduct and the
expectations that the Lively Trainers have of the
    adults who work with them.

What we aim to do
  • We aim to deliver training that is exciting,
interactive, and makes people think about how
they engage with children and young people in a
    way that is meaningful.
  • We aim to develop our skills and confidence and
demonstrate to other young people what they can
achieve even if they find school life
    challenging.
  • Being a lively trainer is about team work,
confidence and self esteem building and helping
    to support each other.

7
What we aim to do continued
  • Development of an individuals positive attitude
towards themselves and other people is a key
skill that the young people learn through the
processes of being a Lively Trainer.
  • The lively trainers are keen to help children
and young people understand their rights to
enable them to be involved as fully as possible
in the decisions that are made about their lives.
