"El niño tiene cien lenguajes, cien manos, cien
pensamientos, cien formas de pensar, de jugar y
de hablar, cien siempre cien formas de escuchar,
de sorprender, de amar, cien alegrías para
cantar y entender". Loris Malaguzzi (Cento).
5
Our common belief
  • The more parents know about the benefits of
early foreign language learning, the better.

7
Our main goal raising awareness among parents
Parents take the decisions. It is the parents
who choose which languages their children learn
and how.
8
A European coalition for early foreign language
learning
Right from the start, creating awareness about
early language learning must involve all those
dealing with language learning, as well as
children and parents, on many different levels
and in many different ways. This is a cooperative
process that will lead to the creation of a
platform for actions. Existing organisations
have huge potential to create awareness once they
are convinced of the necessity and benefits of
acting together in a coordinated way. The
campaign will create the conditions for all of
the involved stakeholders to gain full ownership
of the messages and full recognition for their
actions.
9

- Exhibitions are organized, illustrating what
young people already involved in early language
learning are doing. These could be done with
open-doors events in pre-schools or cultural
institutes with specific workshops. - Workshops
are arranged with parents involved in early
language learning, in which they present ideas
and suggestions and facilitate discussion with
other parents in the community. - Experts are
invited to present ideas and suggestions for
early language learning. - Activities such as
storytelling in different languages, nursery
rhymes etc. are presented in popular places
(e.g. library, shopping centre, central train
station, airport etc.). - Intercultural
activities are organized, in which families from
different cultural backgrounds present their
