Human caused water pollution

Oil
Oil could leak into bodies of fresh water if
there is a hole in an oil tank. This can badly
pollute the water, kill animals that use it, and
poison people if it is not taken care of.
Gas

Pet Waste
Pets could do their business by water. This
makes it so it smells bad and people dont do
anything about it.
But, if it rains, like in this picture, it could
come into the water with the help of the
rainwater.

Factories
Factories dump things into rivers and by doing
this, they can pollute them.
This can cause big problems with pollution. If
people swim here, they can get very sick, and
sometimes die

Trash
People sometimes just throw things on the ground,
which can kill animals if they eat it or get
caught on it. We can help this situation if we
recycle cans etc. that we throw on the ground and
if they are not recyclable, we can throw them in
the THRASH, not on the ground.

Volcanoes
A volcanoes ashes can go into the water and
pollute it, saltwater or freshwater. Fish can
die because they can swallow ashes. Skies can
also turn dark all around the country, just like
Mount Saint Helens did (above)

lightning/trees
Lightning can destroy trees and set forest fires.
Some of these things can get into bodies of
water. Like volcanoes, the ashes can cause
serious problems with fish

Acid Rain
Acid rain can do many bad things. It can kill
fish and turn structures different colors. An
example the statue of liberty used to be dark
brown, almost black , but now it is a bright
green. Acid rain is a combination of sulfur
dioxide and H2O.
