History of Abuse and Neglect Prior to DJJ Entry
  • Of 9,010 DJJ youth (the 2002-2004 cohort), 3,114
    had at least one prior 115 filed (report of
    suspected abuse or neglect). Of these
  • 609 had a prior substantiation of physical abuse
  • 141 had a prior substantiation of emotional abuse
  • 140 had a prior substantiation of sexual abuse
  • 1,034 had a prior substantiation of neglect
