2NYC Health Plans
- 24 Health Plans operate in NYC
- 17 Plans are Medicaid MCOs
- 7 Plans are Commercial only
- 3 Plans offer both Medicaid and
- Commercial coverage
3Health Plan Access to CIR
- Plans may request batch data at any time
- Plans submit files containing currently enrolled
members - Files need to meet standard specifications (see
handout) - CIR returns output file within 10 days - with all
immunizations for each member
4Health Plan Access to CIR
- Plans may submit/receive files electronically
using Web File Repository (WFR) or by mail - WFR is a HIPAA-compliant, secure, electronic file
transfer application - Plans are encouraged to submit files at least
twice per year October and April
5Health Plan Access to CIR
- Starting October 04, plans submit entire
population of Medicaid and Child Health Plus,
aged 18 30 months - Plans may also have access to the Online Registry
set up an account - Online Registry immunization and lead test
histories for members, real-time

We encourage plans to Communicate with
providers/enrollees to encourage appropriate
immunization and reporting to CIR Offer
incentives to providers for up-to-date records in
CIR
