Polycom PVX download, install, configure
  • Must download from http//its.monash.edu.au/staff/
    videoconf/desktop/pvx
  • Must download using end-users Authcate.
  • Must configure following instructions at
    http//its.monash.edu.au/staff/videoconf/desktop/p
    vx
  • Must configure with end-users Firstname
    Lastname and office telephone extension number.

Make a call
  • Enter the number or name (VoIP number or User ID
    as displayed at Monash Videoconferencing
    Directory) of the person that you want to call OR
  • Click on the callto/ link on the VoIP Number in
    the Monash Videoconferencing Directory to make
    the call. This will automatically launch Polycom
    PVX and dial the number OR
  • Use the Directory in the Polycom PVX. Open the
    Directory and double clicking on a name will make
    the call.

Troubleshooting
  • Have you restarted the Polycom PVX after
    installing and configuring it?
  • Are you registered to the Gatekeeper?
  • Go to http//its.monash.edu.au/staff/videoconf/dir
    ectory and make sure that you are listed.
  • Unable to register with Gatekeeper?
  • Is the Gatekeeper running? Check by going to
    http//its.monash.edu.au/staff/videoconf/directory
  • Make sure not to register the same User ID or
    VoIP Number with the same gatekeeper
  • Network issues? Refer to next slide.

Overcoming Network Issues
  • Make sure that Polycom PVX is using the correct
    network adapter.
  • Go to Setup-gtNetwork to select the default
    network adapter.
  • This is a common issue with laptops with wireless
    and wired network adapters.
  • Choose how the system is connected to the network
