3Images here were collected of alumina and copper
where half of the sample is gold coated. As
voltage decreases, the atomic number of the Au
coating dominates.
4The following series of 4 images shows the effect
of voltage on a foreign particle on a copper
surface which is charging. By changing the
voltage to reach the zero point of charge the
problem is eliminated. If this particle were on
the alumina surface (ZPC4kv) there would be no
voltage that would work for both.
