The Almighty Ruler

Margin for ERROR!!!
This gap between the edge of the ruler and the
line for zero is called a margin. You need to
account for it when measuring using a ruler.

Lined up at the edge of Ruler. This seems
correct however, this will make you measurements
inaccurate.

correct!!

Straight line for a correct measurement
A straight meter stick gives us an accurate
measurement

What to do

• Make sure you are lined up straight (parallel and
  perpendicular)
• Get down/up to eye level.
• Take an exact measurement.
