The message is that there are known knowns -
there are things that we know that we know. There
are known unknowns - that is to say, there are
things that we now know we don't know. But there
are also unknown unknowns - there are things we
do not know we don't know. And each year we
discover a few more of those unknown

- Formed in 1999 to coordinate the UK response to
drug trafficking. - Focuses effort against those drugs estimated to
cause the greatest harm. - Includes the major law enforcement and official
agencies. - Coordinates diplomatic, financial, and technical
support to disrupt upstream drug supply. - Coordinates the activities of law enforcement
against drug trafficking into and within the UK.
12SOCA
- Purpose To reduce the harm caused to the UK by
serious organised crime. - Incorporates NCS, NCIS, relevant parts of HM
Customs Excise and HM Immigration Service. - Improves the integration of the intelligence and
investigation functions - Incorporates financial investigation as an
integral part of all operations against organised
crime.
