Mission

• Believing that every person has the right to
  be supported in living a healthy, positive
• life,
• our mission is to reduce suicidal behaviour
  and its impact on individuals, families, and
  communities within Oxford County

• Public awareness
• Education and skill development
• Public health advocacy

  individuals, families and communities within
  Oxford County through
• Advocacy for improved or enhanced services
• Community consultation, coordination and
  collaboration

Membership

• Efforts will be made to ensure that membership
  reflects a wide range of stakeholders

Accountability

• Individual members are accountable to each other
  and the coalitions functions, mission and goals.
• Individuals representing organizations will be
  accountable to their respective affiliations.
• On a regular basis the coalition shares
  information, activities and concerns with the
  Oxford Mental Health and Addictions Network and
  Education sub-committee and with other existing
  stakeholder county committees.
• Independent bank account with related reporting
  on donations, funding and expenses

Decision Making and Structure

• Consensus is sought, however, questions arising
  will be decided by majority vote. Each member has
  one vote. 7 members constitute a quorum
• Executive elected chairperson, rotating
  secretarial role and elected treasurer
• Meetings will be called by the chair for
  approximately 4 times a year with smaller task
  group meetings in between
• Terms of reference will be reviewed annually
