Behavior becomes a problem when
  • The childs own problem solving skills are not
    working
  • The child needs extra individual help to gain
    back her/his own control over her/himself
  • The child is losing self respect and/or the
    respect of peers
  • The childs self esteem is at stake.

Challenging behavior is any behavior that
  • Interferes with childrens learning, development
    and success at play
  • Is harmful to the child, other children, or
    adults
  • Puts a child at high risk for later social
    problems or school failure

behavior as from about the age of 30 months on,
physical aggressive behavior gradually declines
as children learn to regulate their feelings and
understand one anothers point of view
