Behavior becomes a problem when

• The childs own problem solving skills are not
  working
• The child needs extra individual help to gain
  back her/his own control over her/himself
• The child is losing self respect and/or the
  respect of peers
• The childs self esteem is at stake.

Challenging behavior is any behavior that

• Interferes with childrens learning, development
  and success at play
• Is harmful to the child, other children, or
  adults
• Puts a child at high risk for later social
  problems or school failure

Children will sometimes outgrow challenging
behavior as from about the age of 30 months on,
physical aggressive behavior gradually declines
as children learn to regulate their feelings and
understand one anothers point of view

Mistaken Behavior

• Mistaken behavior makes us think guiding and
  educating, which is based upon the following
  premises
• The child is in a state of development
• The processes of learning and developing is
  complex
• Through methods and curriculum, educators need to
  accommodate the developmental and experiential
  circumstances of each child
• Guiding behavior is a big part of every teachers
  job
