The conditional is used to express a doubt, a

The conditional is also used in reported speech.

In English, the conditional is used for reported
speech with a past tense verb of saying ("She
said she would come") andthe future tense is
used for reported speech with a present tense
verb of saying ("She says she will come").

In Italian, though, the present conditional is
used with a present tense verb of sayingDice
che verrebbe. (She says she would come.)
