Growing in Grace Through The Knowledge of Gods
Word
  • The Bible is how God chose to express Himself to
us, and how to instruct us in His ways.

3
2 Peter 11-4
  • Simon Peter, a bondservant and
apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who
have obtained like precious faith with us
by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus
Christ 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in
the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as
His divine power has given to us all things that
pertain to life and godliness, through the
knowledge of Him who called us by glory and
virtue, 4 by which have been given to us
exceedingly great and precious promises, that
through these you may be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in
    the world through lust.

4
Psalm 1199
  • How can a young man cleanse his
way? By taking heed according to
    Your word.

5
We Get from Gods Word...
  • Appreciation
  • Isaiah 5510-11

6
Isaiah 5510-11
  • For as the rain comes down, and
the snow from heaven, And do
not return there, But water the earth, And make
it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to
the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My
word be that goes forth from My mouth It shall
not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish
what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing
    for which I sent it.

7
We Get from Gods Word...
  • Appreciation
  • Isaiah 5510-11
  • Profitable Instructions
  • 2 Timothy 316-17

8
2 Timothy 316-17
  • All Scripture is given by
    inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly
    equipped for every good work.

9
We Get from Gods Word...

  • Profitable Instructions
  • 2 Timothy 316-17
  • Understanding
  • 2 Peter 119-21

10
2 Peter 119-21
  • And so we have the prophetic word
    confirmed, which you do well
to heed as a light that shines in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in
your hearts 20 knowing this first, that no
prophecy of Scripture is of any private
interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the
will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they
were moved by the Holy Spirit.

11
Bible Facts
  • The Bible has one author God
  • About 40 men recorded the words of inspiration

  • God wrote the 10 command-ments with His own
    finger
  • Bible written over about 1,600 years

12
Jeremiah 3623-25
  • And it happened, when Jehudi had
read three or four columns, that
the king cut it with the scribe's knife and cast
it into the fire that was on the hearth, until
all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was
on the hearth. 24 Yet they were not afraid, nor
did they tear their garments, the king nor any of
his servants who heard all these words. 25
    Nevertheless Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah
implored the king not to burn the scroll but he
    would not listen to them.

13
Jeremiah 3631-32
  • I will punish him, his family,
and his servants for their iniquity
and I will bring on them, on the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah all the doom
that I have pronounced against them but they did
not heed. 32 Then Jeremiah took another scroll
and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of
Neriah, who wrote on it at the instruction of
Jeremiah all the words of the book which
Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire.
And besides, there were added to them many
    similar words.

Acts 1710-12
  • Then the brethren immediately sent
Paul and Silas away by night
to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the
synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more
fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that
they received the word with all readiness, and
searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether
these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them
believed, and also not a few of the Greeks,
prominent women as well as men.

the pure milk of the word, that you may grow
thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the
    Lord is gracious.
