Know Your Organization
  • How many people?
  • Where are they located?
  • Whats the schedule like for Sep thru Dec?
  • How did we do last year?
  • Think about how you are going to do this and make
    it fit your organization

7
Make a Plan
  • Get plan approved by CO/XO or senior executive
  • Start?
  • Goal?
  • Who will help?
  • Kick off? Will it include charitable agency
    speaker?
  • Complete by?

9
Get Help Use Key Workers
  • Recommend 1 Key Worker for every 25-30 pers in
    your activity
  • Could organize by departmental/division or office
what ever is most effective for you
  • Contacting every individual takes effort doing
    it alone will demotivate you
  • Key Workers need training to be effective

10
Ask Senior Leaders to Help
  • Includes Officers, Chiefs, SNCOs, managers
  • and other pers in leadership positions
  • Senior leaders dont solicit they support by
opening doors and encouraging consideration as
    well as leading by example
  • Campaign time is short sometimes you have to
ask a boss to help dont hesitate

11
Create Buzz
  • People have to know a campaign is on
  • Use all your available resources
  • Email announcements
  • Plan of the Day announcements
  • Special events (BBQs, bake sales, etc.)
  • Posters banners (available from CFC)
  • Kick off

12
Hold a Kick Off
  • Stand alone event for CFC is ideal but it also.
  • Works as part of All Hands, Safety Stand Downs,
GMTs, Awards Ceremonies, Office Stand Ups, etc
  • Keep Short about 15 minutes max
  • Include Introduction (why are we here?)
Leadership comments, a charitable agency speaker
(contacts available at CFC site online), your
guidance (what do you want them to do?)

13
Contact Everyone Personally
  • The biggest challenge of the campaign
  • Individual emails, mail or inbox is not contact
  • 1 reason people dont give no one asked
  • Keep it simple and use a kick off as a start
    point
  • Ask everyone the way you would like to be asked

14
Provide Info Answer ???
  • Essential part of the individual contact
  • Many potential donors may be new to CFC
  • Expect basic questions if you get stuck
Campaign Action Officer (CAO) and CFC are always
    available to help

15
Follow Up
  • Dont forget people or leave them hanging
  • Some will need to think about it or discuss with
    spouse
  • Make sure everyone knows what you want them to do
    with their pledges

16
Thank Everyone
  • You are the face of CFC for this campaign
  • No one has to give they do it because they
    want to
  • Everyone deserves to be thanked for any
    contribution made

17

people (not everyone needs to get one share)

Why Should I or Anyone Give?
  • Find a need and fill it.
  • It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing
because you can only do a little - do what you
    can.
  • Act as if what you do makes a difference.  It
    does.
