  moving parts.
• Lever-is a simple machine made of a bar or board.

• Simple machine with a flat surface.(one end is
  higher then the other)
• Help move people to a higher place.
• Example- a ramp

  center rod attached to a wheel.

• Gear- a wheel with jagged edges like teeth.

• Wedge- a simple machine used to cut or split an
  object.(used to push or slide objects)
• Example
• Ax (cuts a piece of wood)
• Knife(cut a loaf of bread)

• Pulley- a rope or chain wrapped around the edge
  of a wheel.
• ( a pulley moves an object up or down or side
  ways)
• Pulleys move an object to a place that is hard
  to reach.
