FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN

FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
I Corinthians 59-10 9I have written you in my
letter not to associate with sexually immoral
people 10not at all meaning the people of this
world who are immoral, or the greedy and
swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would
have to leave this world.
John 17, verse 11 11I will remain in the world no
longer, but they are still in the world, and I am
coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the
power of your namethe name you gave meso that
they may be one as we are one.

  • Death/2nd Coming

FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • DEFINING EVOLUTION
  • Evolution means that all life on earth developed
from one or a few simple forms of life. It is now
generally held that these alleged simple
ancestors also developed in a natural way from
    non-living matter. Bolton Davidheiser, Evolution
    and Christian Faith
  • The diversity of life on earth is the outcome of
    evolution an unsupervised, impersonal,
unpredictable and natural process of temporal
descent with genetic modification that is
affected by natural selection, chance, historical
    contingencies and changing environments. Philip
    Johnson, Defeating Darwinism

FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • EXPLAINING CHRISTIAN FAITH
  • Our faith is in Him and His power
  • Jesus is the way, truth and life John 146
  • He is the foundation of our faith 1 Cor 311
  • He is the cornerstone Thru Him only is
    salvation Acts 411,12
  • Our hope is in things above not on the earth
    Col. 31,2

6
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES
  • Christians believe in Adam and Eve as two literal
    people
  • They sinned and were expelled from the garden
  • The Bible represents them as real people
  • 1 Tim. 213 2 Cor. 113 1 John. 312 Heb.
    114 Mt. 2335
  • We have sinned as they did and need the mercy of
    God
  • Eph. 21-5
  • We are then saved by His grace
  • Eph. 28-10

7
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES
  • Evolution explains it this way
  • There never was a literal Adam and Eve since life
existed long before it evolved into animal life
    and eventually man.
  • Sin, they say is left over from our bestial
nature and will be overcome as man continues in
    time.
  • Evolution says man will improve as he evolves
until all wars cease and prosperity rules.

8
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES
  • The Bible presents a different scenario
  • Man will digress and rebel against Gods will
  • 1 Tim. 41-3 Acts 2029,30
  • Jesus says wars and rumors of such will precede
    destruction of Jerusalem
  • Matt. 24
  • Peace is a spiritual blessing representing
reconciliation with God as a solution to our sin
  • Luke 214 Rom. 86-11 2 Cor. 517-19

9
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • SUMMATION OF THE CONFLICT
  • Evolution cannot be reconciled with the
historical account of creation in the Bible.
  • Which will you believe?
  • It is either evolution or Creation/Christian?

10
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • The heavens declare the glory of God and the
    firmament shows His handiwork.
  • Jesus said God made male and female in the
    beginning.
  • God spoke, and it was done He commanded, and it
    stood fast.
  • For every house is built by someone, but He who
    built all things is God.

11
Homosexuality
The world tells us that homosexuality is "okay,"
that it is just "an alternative lifestyle," that
some people are "born that way" and must practice
homosexuality to be "true to themselves." God, in
the Bible, tells us that His view of
homosexuality is quite different. Homosexuality
is a sin, and like all sins will separate one
from God.

FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
Scripture from almost 2000 years ago New
Century Version 1 Cor. 69-11 -Surely you know
that the people who do wrong will not inherit
Gods kingdom. Do not be fooled. Those who sin
sexually, worship idols, take part in adultery,
those who are male prostitutes, or men who have
sexual relations with other men, those who steal,
are greedy, get drunk, lie about others, or rob
these people will not inherit Gods kingdom.
14
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
  • All of them against Gods will for
  • men and women. All of this is under the category
    of the unrighteous.
  • All of these destructive to family and church
    and nation.
  • With reference to each one of them, you can say
    NO.
  • And if you have ever been involved in any or
all of these, the message of the gospel of Christ
is, upon your active faith and penitence, you can
    be forgiven.

Second Coming
  • While most professing Christians look for the
Lord to return, they often differ greatly over
the details surrounding His "second coming
  • The "premillenial" view looks for Christ to come
in order to establish a literal kingdom on the
earth, over which He will reign for a 1000 years
  • The "postmillenial" view understands that Christ
will at some point begin a thousand year reign
from heaven, at the end of which He will come to
    judge the world
  • The "amillenial" view is from Gods own words
that Christ has been reigning as "King of kings,
and Lord of lords" ever since His ascension to
heaven, and that His coming will be to raise the
dead, judge the world, and usher in the "new
    heavens and new earth"

17
FAITH IN GOD VS. FAITH IN MAN
Christians can look forward to experiencing bliss
  • The "resurrection of the dead", in which our
spirits will obtain glorified and immortal bodies

2. The "Day of Judgment", which for the
Christian will be a day of glory and vindication
3. The "new heavens and new earth", in which God
and Christ will dwell with us for eternity
18
  • III. THE "PURPOSE" OF HIS COMING
  • A. TO RAISE THE DEAD
  • B. TO DELIVER UP THE KINGDOM TO GOD
  • C. TO JUDGE THE WORLD AND PUNISH EVIL
  • D. TO USHER IN THE "NEW HEAVENS AND NEW EARTH

8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,"
declares the LORD.  9 "As the heavens are higher
than the earth,        so are my ways higher
than your ways        and my thoughts than your
thoughts.
